Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Pediatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse to support a 3 x 12-hour Day Shift at the new Texas Behavioral Health Center. The role focuses on direct patient care for children, adolescents, and their families within a state-funded behavioral health facility.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, document care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective treatment and smooth patient transitions.

Qualifications

• RN with 1 year of pediatric psychiatry experience.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program; English communication required.
• Texas RN license (NLC/BNE) and BLS.
• CPI training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform CPI holds and care for Behavioral Health patients.
• Complete accurate nursing assessments and document in the chart.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to develop and update the plan of care.
• Involve patients and families in the care plan and education.
