Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Pediatric Psych Registered Nurse to cover 3 x 12-hour shifts on the Day Shift in Dallas. The role supports a new state psychiatric hospital within the Texas Behavioral Health Center, providing expert nursing care to children, adolescents, and families.

Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program (Texas BON 217.1).
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• 1 year of RN experience; pediatric psychiatry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services under supervision for pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the health care team.
• Prioritize nursing interventions and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Ensure adherence to nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
