Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a Recreational Therapist to implement therapeutic recreational activities for pediatric psychiatric patients in Fort Worth. Under the general supervision of the Psychiatry team, you will help create an engaging environment, manage challenging behaviors calmly, and support a patient- and family-centered plan of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy (or Recreation) from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience performing recreational therapy with patients.
• Experience with psychiatric patients preferred.
• Experience safely managing patients with aggressive or challenging behaviors.
• Experience/training in Experiential Therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic recreational activities for pediatric psychiatric patients under supervision.
• Provide recreational therapy in the Child Life Zone for patients and siblings.
• Plan programs, implement treatment, and document progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary psychiatry team to deliver an integrated plan of care.
