Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the Child and Adolescent inpatient service at Somerville Hospital. The role is 0.9 FTE with a schedule of 11:30 pm–8:00 am on weekdays and every other weekend 8:00 pm–8:30 am. Massachusetts licensure and PMHNP specialization are required.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of NP experience with youth and inpatient/psychiatric emergency exposure. A master’s degree and prescriptive authority are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience treating children and adolescents.
• Inpatient or psychiatric emergency setting experience with youth preferred.
• Massachusetts licensure authorizing practice as Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist with prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Perform admissions to child, adolescent, and neurodevelopmental units.
• Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations.
• Plan, implement and revise treatment with multidisciplinary teams.
• Complete patient chart documentation in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate crisis prevention and management skills.
• Manage emergencies promptly and professionally.
