Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Milieu Counselor for the Somerville campus to support a secure inpatient psychiatric unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, run therapeutic groups, and monitor patient safety. You will document vitals, intake/output, and notify nurses of changes.

The role emphasizes teamwork, crisis support, and adherence to policies in a 12-bed adolescent unit serving ages 12–18. Nights, weekends, and holidays apply.

Qualificações

• High school diploma required; B.A./B.S./M.A. preferred or equivalent experience in human services.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Prior human services, behavioral or psychiatric experience strongly preferred.
• All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job specific physical test.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and support patients in crisis.
• Lead or co-lead therapeutic groups and participate in care planning.
• Perform safety checks and conduct 1:1 meetings with patients.
• Accurately chart vital signs, intake/output, and nutritional needs.
• Communicate changes to supervising registered nurse and care team.
