Job summary

A specialty medical company in New Haven, Connecticut is seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to provide care to patients with disabling conditions. Qualifications

• Two plus years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients; make adjustments for proper fit.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices based on physicians' prescriptions.
• Make and modify plaster casts for device construction.
• Select materials based on device design.
• Confer with physicians to formulate specifications for devices.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or direct others.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A.)

Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO)

Completion of NCOPE certified residency program
