Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Special Procedure Nurse for Pediatric Urgent Care in Somerville, MA. You will provide pre- and post-procedure assessment, IV moderate sedation, and post-op monitoring within a collaborative care team.

Responsibilities include ensuring safe procedural flow, patient education, documentation, and compliance with safety standards. Requires MA RN license, BLS, and 3+ years’ relevant nursing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an Accredited RN education program.
• Active and unrestricted RN licensure in MA.
• BLS required; ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• 3+ years of relevant medical/surgical or ambulatory nursing experience.
• Willingness to participate in IVMS seminars every two years.

Responsibilities

• Support procedural process as part of a collaborative care team.
• Organize resources to ensure safe, efficient procedural flow.
• Provide pre-op assessment, IV moderate sedation, intra-procedural support, and post-op monitoring.
• Perform nursing procedures within scope (IV placement, meds, injections, wound care, EKGs, glucose).
• Deliver patient education and maintain documentation and confidentiality.
• Monitor patient condition and report data to care team.
• Administer medications and assist with oncology care coordination.
• Maintain safety standards, credentialing, and certifications.
• Contribute to staff education, meetings, and quality improvement.
• Support patient flow management and program planning.
