Ascension is seeking a skilled RN for the Pediatric Preadmissions Testing unit at Dell Children’s Medical Center North in Austin, TX. The role is Day shift, Full Time, and you’ll conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, review medical histories, coordinate care with the team, and educate patients and families on surgical preparation and post-operative care.

Minimum requirements include a Texas RN license, BLS within 30 days, and a nursing diploma (or equivalent licensure).

Qualifikationen

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Aufgaben

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments to ensure patients understand their surgical procedures, preparation requirements, and care expectations before surgery.
• Assess patient medical histories, current medications, and overall health status to identify risks that may affect surgical safety and outcomes.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to address clinical concerns and arrange additional pre-operative testing when indicated.
• Provide patient-centered education and counseling to help patients and families understand surgical preparation, transportation arrangements, and post-operative care needs.
