Job summary

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia seeks a per diem Nurse Practitioner to join the Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) team. The NP will support pediatric orthopedic patients through pre-operative history, exams, and coordination of surgery prep under physician and anesthesia supervision.

The role requires MS in Nursing, pediatric NP certification, PA RN license, and prescriptive authority with DEA. Shifts are 6:30 AM–2:30 PM; a collaborative, patient-centered environment is offered.

Qualifications

• MSN or higher degree required.
• Board certification as PNP or FNP (ANCC/AANP/NCCPA).
• Active PA RN license required.
• PA APRN license with prescriptive authority required.
• Active DEA license required.
• BLS and PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective care in the pre-admission phase of the peri-operative experience.
• Coordinate and manage patient preparation for procedures.
• Monitor care delivery and patient progression through pre-admission processes.
• Attend orthopedic and specialty outpatient clinics as assigned.
• Obtain and document health histories and physical exams.
• Order appropriate treatment and/or diagnostic studies.
• Make referrals as needed.
