Job summary

Cincinnati Children's seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Pre-Anesthesia Consult Clinic. You will perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations on pediatric patients, reviewing histories, conducting exams, and identifying medical issues that could affect anesthesia and surgery.

This role requires collaboration with anesthesiologists and a multidisciplinary team. You will educate families, coordinate with surgical teams, and contribute to the Perioperative SHOPPE program,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
• Current, unrestricted Ohio licensure and national NP/PA certification.
• Pediatric clinical experience preferred; anesthesia/perioperative background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations for pediatric patients scheduled for procedures.
• Review medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Identify risks and optimize medical status prior to anesthesia.
• Educate families about evaluations, procedures, risks and expectations.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and the care team to plan individualized care.
• Document assessments and plans in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement and professional education activities.
