Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced APP to independently evaluate and prepare pediatric patients for procedures requiring anesthesia. You will collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, pediatric specialists, nursing staff, and perioperative teams to optimize patients and reduce perioperative risk.

The role involves conducting comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments via telephone, telehealth, inpatient, or in-person visits and ensuring safe perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a California BRN-approved school with a master’s degree or DNP.
• Experience performing comprehensive patient assessments and care coordination for surgical patients.
• Minimum 5 years as a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum 3 years in pediatric ambulatory perioperative care, preop/postop management.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and prepare pediatric patients for procedures requiring anesthesia.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative teams to optimize patients.
• Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations via telephone, telehealth, or in-person visits.
• Identify patients needing additional evaluation or consultation to ensure safety.
