Job summary

Ascension is seeking a registered nurse for the Pediatric Post Op Surgical Trauma unit in Austin, TX. The role focuses on executing individualized care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring accurate adherence to orders and safety protocols.

The position requires a nursing diploma and Texas RN licensure with preferred PALS; night shift, full-time schedule, and hospital benefits are included.

Qualifications

• RN credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities

• Executes individualized patient care plans, tracking status, documenting clinical changes, and communicating updates to the care team.
• Acts as primary liaison across multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless, well-aligned treatment and communication.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders, adhering to clinical protocols and patient safety guidelines.
• Evaluates discharge readiness and collaborates with clinicians, social services, and families to design smooth transitions of care.
