Job summary

Blythedale Children's Hospital in Westchester County, NY, seeks a Therapy Aide to support the physical therapy team by escorting patients, transferring them to equipment, and performing patient programs under supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

This role includes assisting with pool therapy, maintaining department cleanliness, and documentation in the EMR. English proficiency and prior child-related experience preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Must be able to speak and write in English proficiently to perform job duties such as communicating with patients, writing documentation, and participating in team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in changing patients to and from adaptive equipment as scheduled by therapists.
• Participating directly with the pool PT in assisting with exercises
• Run upper extremity exercise classes as directed by therapists.
• Assist with the pool operations, including managing supplies, checking temperature, showering, dressing, and occasionally toileting patients, and disinfecting hydrotherapy equipment.
• Assist in maintaining the department, organizing equipment, and managing supplies.
• Demonstrate competency in the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system; ensure timely and appropriate documentation.
• Participate in hospital training as needed.
