Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy is required.
• State license to practice physical therapy is required.
• Two years of experience in physical therapy is preferred.
• Ability to direct others is necessary.
• English language proficiency at an intermediate or higher level is required.

Responsibilities

• Initiates skilled physical therapy treatments in accordance with physician’s orders; maintains contact with physician.
• Maintains written evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Confers with other health care staff regarding patients’ needs to enhance rehabilitation.
• Provides input for meetings and covers during absences of the Director Physical Therapy.
• Maintains statistical records of treatments.
• Assists with in-service training programs upon request.
• Updates plans of care in the Inter-disciplinary Kardex.
• Requests supplies needed for treatment.
• Assumes duties of Director Physical Therapy during absences, including supervision of aides.
