Job summary

Children’s Health of Northern California (CHONC) is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant to support children from birth to 20 years with complex medical needs in our subacute unit. You will work under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to implement customized therapy plans focused on mobility, strength, range of motion, and daily activity participation.

Ideal candidates have PTA education, California licensure, CPR/BLS, and experience with pediatric patients or chronic

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• California PTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• CPR/BLS certification required; pediatric care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow treatment plan as prescribed by the physical therapist and work under supervision.
• Treat pediatric patients with complex medical needs including assistive devices.
• Collaborate with family, nurses, respiratory therapists, OTs, SLPs and physicians.
• Provide caregiver education to promote carryover of therapy goals.
• Document progress notes in alignment with regulatory standards.
• Assist with wheelchair clinic and durable medical equipment coordination.
