Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; understand physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage conditions according to protocol.
