Children's Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide technical support to pharmacists at the Skywalk Pharmacy. You will enter prescriptions, review accuracy, adjudicate claims, assist in preparation, packaging, labeling, and inventory management, while communicating with patients and staff to ensure safe medication processing.

This role requires a Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license and emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
  • Graduate of a pharmacy tech program preferred.
  • 1+ years experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enters prescriptions in the operating system, analyzes, and reviews prescriptions for completeness and accuracy according to specified standards.
  • Assists in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of medications.
  • Interacts and communicates with patients, families, and other medical personnel in person and over the phone.
  • Assists in inventory management by maintaining inventory levels and handling narcotics per policy.
  • Assists patients in the check-out process through the point of sale and closes the register drawer.
  • Contributes to quality improvement activities by gathering data.
