Job summary

CompleteRx is seeking an Assistant Director of Pharmacy in Corpus Christi, TX, to partner with Driscoll Children’s Hospital and lead a pediatric-focused pharmacy program. This leadership role emphasizes clinical excellence, policy development, and team supervision across the health system.

The candidate will ensure safe drug therapies, manage budgets, and drive procurement while coordinating education for staff, patients, and families within a pediatric hospital network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required.
• License in good standing to practice pharmacy in Texas.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience managing people and processes.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a pediatric hospital is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective drug therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Assist in developing, enforcing, and maintaining policies and procedures that promote cost-effective, appropriate, and safe drug therapy.
• Assist in the supervision of drug storage and preparation areas throughout the health system.
• Assist in providing for the educational needs of healthcare professionals, patients, and their families in the health system.
• Assist in ensuring the maintenance and integrity of an adequate drug supply and assist in the establishment of procurement and purchasing specifications for drugs, chemicals, and biologicals.
• Assist in ensuring strict control and accountability for drugs dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock.
• Assist in the adequate control and documentation of controlled substances.
• Perform other supervisory duties as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
• Supervise pharmacy personnel as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
• Assist in the recruitment, promotion, discipline, and termination of pharmacy staff as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of job descriptions and performance standards consistent with health system standards and as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
• Assist in the preparation of work schedules and monitor pharmacy workload as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
• Assist in providing for the educational and training needs of the pharmacy staff.
• Assist in the preparation of pharmacy budgets as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
