Job summary

Shriners Children’s in California seeks a licensed pediatric pharmacist to provide distributive, clinical, consultative, and research pharmaceutical services in a pediatric burn, orthopedic, and rehabilitation hospital.

You will join an interdisciplinary team, ensure safe dispensing, verify orders, supervise staff, and participate in QA and formulary work; PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• CA pharmacist license required.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with pediatric critical care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for patient administration with correct technique.
• Verify and transmit prescription orders from prescribers.
• Screen drug orders for appropriateness and safety.
• Compound, fill, and dispense medications per standards; ensure dose accuracy.
• Assist supervision and training of staff and volunteers.
• Participate in QA, P&T committees, formulary work.
• Maintain required records, inventory, and documentation.
