Job summary

Shriners Children's Boston has a PRN opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist. Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, this position will provide clinical pharmacy services, patient-focused pharmacotherapy, teaching and pharmacy operational duties.

Key responsibilities include reviewing orders, preparing medications and sterile products, dispensing, overseeing inventory, supervising technicians, and supporting medication-event tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Pharmacy required.
• Current pharmacy license in state of practice.
• PharmD preferred.
• Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician drug orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Prepares and oversees medications and sterile products.
• Conducts and oversees dispensing of medications.
• Oversees inventory management in pharmacy and storage areas.
• Recommends and monitors patient-specific pharmacotherapy.
• Precepts pharmacy technicians and students.
• Reviews controlled substance records.
• Promotes medication-event management and tracking.
• Assumes operational aspects in Director's absence.
