Job summary

You will participate in direct patient care, manage calls, coordinate prescriptions and equipment, and drive the Medical Mobile Unit to campus locations, ensuring smooth transitions along the care plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, 6 years of patient related experience, and completion of a Medical Assistant or related allied healthcare training program required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the Pediatric Department liaison between the clinic and students, families, schools, and health care providers, ensuring timely access to clinical and supportive services.
• Performs direct patient care activities including intake, vital signs, injections, and wound care.
• Manages calls and messages from patients, families, and other health care providers to address needs and treatments.
• Communicates orders for prescriptions and equipment and obtains insurance authorizations as required.
• Acts as primary contact for school-based care and provides education about ongoing plans of care.
• Drives Medical Mobile Unit to various school campuses in Mobile and Saraland.
• Coordinates care, supports emotional needs, and assists in overcoming barriers to care.
