Job summary

Shriners Children's Chicago is hiring a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant for our Inpatient Unit. This 0.6 FTE role (48 hours bi-weekly) supports direct patient care under a Registered Nurse and provides compassionate family-centered care.

The successful candidate will have a CNA, CPR certification, a high school diploma, and at least one year of pediatric hospital experience. The shift runs 6:00 am–2:30 pm with every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from American Heart Association
• One year of pediatric experience

Responsibilities

• Assists in delivery of patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned
• Demonstrates caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families
• Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate
