Qualifications

• Independent work in home care while collaborating with a team.
• Provide music therapy assessments and interventions for pediatric patients.
• Experience in mental health, pediatrics, education or social services.
• Excellent communication, listening and observation skills.
• High level of musical ability and knowledge.
• AMTA-approved music therapy program and CBMT certification.
• Knowledge of infant, child and adolescent special needs.
• Ability to analyze behavior by developmental stage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct music therapy activities to support patients' health goals.
• Adapt assessments to meet individual client needs.
• Analyze data to determine treatment effectiveness.
• Communicate assessment findings to the care team.
• Coordinate treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
• Design therapy experiences to meet client goals.
• Document progress and write case reports.
• Potential supervision of practicum students or interns.
• Conduct music therapy research when appropriate.
• Identify and respond to emergency health situations.
