Job summary

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of recent PACU or PICU experience as an RN.
• Three (3) years of recent pediatric experience as an RN.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.
• On-call commitment is required.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Two (2) years of Critical Care experience as an RN (PICU, ED, ICU).
• BSN degree is preferred.
• Experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Care Center is an asset.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification
• Active American Heart Association PALS certification
• ASPAN certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and abilities essential for nursing practice.
• Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and legal responsibilities.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.
• Carry out established nursing procedures and perform related duties.
• Provide nursing care for patients with complex needs with assistance and supervision.
• Assist with managing patient care administered by the nursing team.
• Exhibit service excellence and follow UCSF Medical Center standards for communication and behavior.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competency in all interactions.
• Assume accountability for improving quality metrics and meeting organizational targets.
