Qualifications

• Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Minimum of three (3) years PICU or Transitional Care Nurse Practitioner experience
• Current practice in Pediatric Critical and/or Transitional Care
• California RN License without restriction
• California Nurse Practitioner License without restriction
• NP Furnishing Number (CPNP-AC) required/maintained
• AHA BLS certification; PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and manages patients independently or collaboratively with physicians.
• Takes histories, performs exams, orders tests and medications, documents in EHR.
• May assist in the operating room after required certification and proctoring.
• Coordinates care across inpatient, care coordination, and outpatient services.
• Delivers discharge planning and patient/family education as part of the care team.
