Qualifications

• BSN required for all new hires after 01/01/2011.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• One year of experience in similar role.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• CPR – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Three years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Nursing process—Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements a care plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and utilizes any assistants appropriately.
• Involves patient/family in care, teaching, discharge planning.
• Performs patient care to optimize safety and reduce medical errors per safety goals.
• Assesses and manages pain; educates patient and family on pain management.
• Demonstrates effective hand-offs to the next healthcare provider.
• Assumes required on-call assignments.
