Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the outpatient/retail setting in Phoenix, AZ.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with medication preparation, labeling, and delivery to patients, ensuring compliance with Arizona Board of Pharmacy rules. You will handle prescriptions in pharmacy software, manage claims and billing, and support customer service at the counter and via phone.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or outpatient pharmacy setting.
• Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with all members of the pharmacy and patient care team and ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet assigned goals.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with pharmacy information software and POS systems.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish - Preferred but NOT required.

Responsibilities

• Medication preparation and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Process prescriptions and maintain patient records using pharmacy software; process insurance claims, bills, and credits to ensure revenue capture.
• Provide customer service at the pharmacy counter and over the phone; manage home and clinic delivery orders.
• Maintain inventory levels and assist with stocking from vendors; rotate stock to use oldest items first.
• Complete quality assurance checks and logs; follow waste control and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in department process improvements and training of staff; attend relevant continuing education.
