Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Fayetteville, NC is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct pediatric care in our outpatient clinic. You will support providers, perform nursing assessments, administer vaccines and medications, and document in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Active LPN license in good standing with the NC Nursing Board.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Strong understanding of pediatric immunizations, clinical procedures, and nursing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room pediatric patients; obtain vital signs, growth measurements, medical history, and complaints.
• Perform nursing assessments within scope of practice and document findings in the EMR.
• Administer childhood immunizations following CDC/ACIP guidelines and verify proper documentation of VIS sheets.
• Administer medications orally, intramuscularly, intradermally, and subcutaneously as ordered.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, RSV, urinalysis, etc.).
• May assist with or perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens using pediatric techniques.
• Support Providers with complex pediatric clinical tasks including catheterization, nebulizer treatments, wound care, and suture removal.
• Conduct pediatric hearing and vision screenings.
• Provide age-appropriate education to parents and patients related to medications and treatment plans.
• Maintain infection control, sterilization procedures, and proper handling of medical equipment.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and pediatric supplies.
