Hireology is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct pediatric nursing care in an outpatient setting. The role supports providers, maintains regulatory compliance, and ensures efficient clinic operations.

The LPN will perform immunizations, administer medications, conduct nursing assessments, and document findings in the EMR while educating families and coordinating care across visits.

Qualificações

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Active LPN license in good standing with the NC Nursing Board.
• Pediatric experience preferred; current BLS.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and room pediatric patients; obtain age-appropriate vital signs, growth measurements, medical history.
• Administer childhood immunizations following CDC/ACIP guidelines and verify VIS documentation.
• Administer medications orally, intramuscularly, intradermally, and subcutaneously as ordered by the provider.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, RSV, urinalysis, etc.).
• May assist with phlebotomy and lab specimen collection.
• Assist with complex pediatric tasks including catheterization, nebulizer treatments, wound care, suture removal, and splinting.
• Conduct pediatric hearing and vision screenings.
• Provide age-appropriate education to parents and patients.
• Maintain infection control, sterilization, and proper handling of medical equipment.
• Monitor vaccine refrigerator/freezer temperatures and comply with VFC guidelines.

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care, clinical support, and administrative assistance in a pediatric outpatient setting. The LPN ensures safe, high-quality care for infants, children, and adolescents while supporting providers, maintaining regulatory compliance, and contributing to efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and room pediatric patients; obtain age-appropriate vital signs (manual BP), growth measurements (height/length, weight, head circumference,BMI percentile), medical history, and chef complaint.
• Perform nursing assessments within scope of practice and document findings in theEMR.
• Administer childhood immunizations following CDC/ACIP guidelines and verify proper documentation of VIS sheets.
• Administer medications orally,intramuscularly, intradermally, and subcutaneously as ordered by the provider.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, RSV, urinalysis, etc.).
• May assist with or performphlebotomy and collect lab specimens using pediatric-appropriate techniques.
• May perform of assist Provider with complex pediatric clinical tasks includingcatheterization, nebulizer treatments, wound care, suture removal, and splinting.
• Conduct pediatric hearing and vision screenings.
• Provide age-appropriate education to parents and patients related to medications, chronic condition management, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Maintain infection control, sterilization procedures, and proper handling of medical equipment.
• Monitor and document vaccine refrigerator/freezer temperatures and comply withVFC guidelines if applicable.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and pediatric supplies.
• Support parents with instructions for medication, care plans, and follow-up
• Respond to pediatric emergencies according to office protocol and participate in routine emergency drills.
• Triage pediatric patients in-office and via phone to determine urgency and appropriate care needs.
• Responsible for tracking provider orders and maintainingEMR buckets.
• Notify the Health Department promptly of anyreportable infectious diseases.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Active LPN license in good standing with the NC Nursing Board.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• CurrentBLS certification.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Strong understanding of pediatric immunizations, clinical procedures, and nursing protocols.
