Job summary

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at MUSC provides anesthesia care for pediatric and other patients in an outpatient ambulatory center. You will work a 40-hour week, typically Monday to Friday with no nights or weekends required, and collaborate closely with the attending anesthesiologist.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-anesthesia assessments, documentation, and ensuring patient safety while using anesthesia machines and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of CODA-approved Nurse Anesthesia programs.
• Must be certified or recertified by NBCRNA.
• Current license to practice as an APRN in SC or eligible.
• Master’s degree (as of Mar 1, 2019) with concentration in Nurse Anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescribed solutions and administer anesthesia.
• Inform physician of patient condition during anesthesia.
• Perform pre- and post-anesthesia visits and document notes.
• Provide anesthesia care to diverse patient populations.
• Operate anesthesia equipment and assist in patient transport.
• Contribute to teaching and continuing education within the department.
