Job summary

ADAPT Community Network, formerly United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of NYC, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Children’s Services to evaluate and treat students, aiding rehabilitation and independence in daily living skills. This role involves contributing to Individual Family Service Plans and collaborating with parents and teams.

The successful candidate will hold a NY State OT license, ideally have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (Masters preferred), and bring strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred.
• Current NY State license in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of prior Occupational Therapist experience preferred.
• Familiarity with nonprofit service delivery models preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong initiative and willingness to learn; team player.
• Confidentiality and travel between programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to establish learning and performance capabilities and develop treatment plans.
• Provide therapy evaluation and treatment under applicable plans and regulations.
• Maintain attendance records and ensure services meet educational goals.
• Select activities to aid students in daily living and vocational tasks.
• Offer in-service education to staff and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Document progress and adapt plans as needed.
• Provide supervision to OT students and assistants when required.
• Maintain equipment and order supplies.
