Job summary

Smiles Pediatric Dental Care in Lanham and Bowie, MD, part of Lone Peak Dental Group, is looking for an Orthodontic Assistant who loves working with kids and teens. You will prepare rooms, assist orthodontists, take X-rays, and maintain instruments in a friendly, kid-centered environment.

The role is full-time (30+ hours per week) with competitive benefits. CPR and X-ray certification are required, and prior ortho experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• X-ray and CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an ortho practice preferred; training available.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.
• Experience with Denticon or iTero a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid-friendly environment.
