Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is hiring an Operating Room Technician I for the Pediatric Operating Room, dayshift. You will support surgeons as a scrub and circulator, prepare and maintain OR supplies, and assist in patient care steps in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

Qualification includes NBSTSA-certified or eligible status to obtain certification within six months, plus completion of a certified OR tech program or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting is preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or exam date provided before start of employment; certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician, or comparable training program or experience as an OR Technician/Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Scrub as part of the surgical team to assist in procedures.
• Assist in care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the OR.
• Provide circulation assistance and support to physicians during general surgery procedures.
