NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking an Operating Room Technician I for the Pediatric OR to join a high-profile team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The role supports physicians throughout general pediatric surgeries and requires on-site presence in the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center setting.

The ideal candidate will have NBSTSA-certified credentials or be able to obtain certification within six months, plus completion of an accredited OR tech program or equivalent

• Preferred: prior OR/Surgical Tech experience in acute care.
• Must obtain NBSTSA certification within six months of hire if not already certified.
• Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist/Operating Room Technician program or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub, circulation, and team support during a wide range of general surgeries.
• Care, prepare, and maintain OR supplies and equipment; assist physicians as needed.
• Assist in a fast-paced environment and participate in ongoing professional growth.

Operating Room Technician I - Pediatric Operating Room - Days

Responsibilities

Join our high-profile OR team, and build on our reputation for excellence as you provide crucial support to physicians throughout a wide range of general surgery procedures. Thrive in a fast-paced environment that challenges you to perform at your best every day and fosters your continued growth and advancement. You will function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team. You will assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. Experience life at the forefront of a better tomorrow - for patients, our hospital and your career. This is a full time position working 10:00am-6:30pm at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Occasional weekends, nights, and holidays are required.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting

Required Criteria

• Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA) or if a new graduate, must supply exam date prior to start of employment.
• Certification must be obtained within six months of hire and complete a probationary period of six (6) months from date of hire.
• Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician or comparable training program or experience as on O.R. Technician/Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
• High school diploma or GED.
