Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Malvern Surgery Center. The role supports operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field.

It requires completing a Surgical Technologist Program and BLS certification, with shifts listed as 60 hours biweekly, Wed–Fri, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, no weekends, no holidays, no call. Travel between Nemours facilities may be required; compensation policies apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Program is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assembles supplies and equipment for procedures as scrub person.
• Performs pre-procedure OR setup following established methods.
• Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for procedures with sterility checks.
• Performs accounting procedures with circulating nurse per policies.
• Assists with sterile drapes placement and instrument delivery to the team.
• Provides instruments and supplies safely to the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintains a safe, organized back table and sterile field.
• Ensures sterility of the surgical field.
• Prepares sterile dressings after final surgical count.
• Cleans and preprocesses instruments for sterilization and transport.
• Participates in post-procedure OR turnover per policy.
