Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
• ACLS certification within six months for areas performing moderate sedation procedures
• One year of recent experience as an RN
• OR Licensed RN with 2+ years of LPN experience in the same department may substitute for RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric surgical patients.
• Circulate, scrub and float in the OR.
• Assess patients and document findings; notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
• Develop and implement care plans with patients and families.
• Coordinate discharge planning and education.
• Maintain core nursing competencies (CPR, skills labs) and participate in education and research.
