Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Operating Room on a weekend incentive program. The role supports pediatric perioperative services with a care-focused team in a state-of-the-art pediatric OR.

Licensure in Virginia or a compact state, 1–3 years OR/pediatric experience preferred, and BSN enrollment within two years are anticipated. AHA BLS HCP certification is required, with opportunities for career advancement within the department.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility; compact state accepted.
• 12–24 months RN experience for Clin II; 3 years for Clin III.
• Diploma or Associate degree in nursing; BSN required to enroll within 2 years.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
• BSN degree preferred; specialty certification preferred for Clin III.

Responsibilities

• Follows physician/licensed independent provider orders.
• Practices within Virginia nursing regulations and ANA Code of Ethics.
• Supervises others (RNs, LPNs, Care Partners) as assigned.
• Works all three shifts, weekends and holidays; schedule rotates as needed.
• Provides perioperative pediatric care in the OR setting.
