Job summary

Children's Nebraska is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists with eye care in a fast-paced clinic setting. You will prepare examination rooms, perform basic screenings, administer eye medications, and help during minor surgical procedures.

Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, managing patient flow, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining documentation in a busy ophthalmology clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ophthalmic Tech/Optometric tech degree preferred.
• One year ophthalmic experience preferred.
• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Medication Aide Registry within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Ophthalmologist or Optometrist with eye care in the office setting.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms and review appointment schedules.
• Perform basic vision screening examinations and administer eye medications.
• Assist during minor surgical and laser procedures.
• Maintain patient flow, obtain history, and document accurately.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
