Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Downtown Orlando seeks an Ophthalmic Technician (Full-Time) to join our ophthalmology team. The role involves performing testing, collecting medical histories, and providing family-centered care within a busy clinic setting.

The incumbent will handle patient data, adhere to professional standards, and travel to satellite locations as needed. A strong emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required with 1 year of training beyond high school.
  • Minimum 5 months to 1 year of experience required.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
  • Travel to satellite locations will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately collects health care data and documents information in patient records according to policy.
  • Independently performs and documents standard ophthalmologic testing/procedures within scope.
  • Responsible for professional practice and development of self and others according to scope.
  • Complies with and promotes Nemours Standards of Behavior.
  • Provides safe and effective patient/family care and maintains a safe environment.
  • Performs clerical duties as assigned.
  • Participates in ensuring the financial well-being of the Division of Ophthalmology and Nemours Foundation.
