Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology unit. The RN will provide age-appropriate, family-centered care in a 26-bed unit serving leukemia, lymphoma and stem cell transplant patients, with 12-hour shifts and rotating days/nights.

The role emphasizes care coordination, evidence-based nursing, and teaching patients and families, under CHOP nursing standards.

Qualifications

• RN with 12 months of RN experience required.
• Onco/chemo administration experience preferred.
• Active RN license and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow nursing process to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Gather assessment data and develop the patient/family plan of care.
• Recognize clinical changes and escalate to CAT team when needed.
• Collaborate with patient, family and multidisciplinary team.
• Create and revise care plans; ensure family-centered, outcome-focused care.
• Coordinate care across the continuum and utilize case management resources.
• Apply evidence-based bundles and nursing standards to prevent harm.
• Address ethical issues and seek resources to resolve them.
• Teach patients/families and progress to expert educator.
• Document evaluation of care on each shift and communicate results.
• Adopt clinical practice changes promptly and responsibly.
