Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital seeks a massage therapist to evaluate pediatric and select adult patients for massage therapy, implement programs, and educate patients and families on indications, benefits, and progress.

The role requires collaboration with physicians and staff, documenting results, and providing education and in-services. This on-call position supports care for injuries or diseases and may involve adult patients as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of basic Curriculum for Therapeutic Massage from an accredited School of Massage Therapy.
• Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
• Certification in Neuromuscular and Myofascial Massage Therapy, preferred.
• Certification in Newborn Massage Therapy or Infant Massage, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers massage therapy treatment to promote relaxation and improve pulmonary function, and modifies treatment plans to meet needs and goals.
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in departmental in-service training programs.
• Documents evaluation results, progress, and treatment plans using appropriate documentation methods.
• Educates patients and families on treatment goals, therapy plans, and compliance.
• Evaluates patients to determine suitability of massage therapy and develops individualized plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
