Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Medical Office Licensed Practical Nurse for the West Union Family Health Center in West Union, OH. This full-time, on-site position supports provider exams, patient education, and administrative tasks in a 40-hour week.

The LPN will collect vitals, document histories, perform procedures, and assist with phones, prescriptions, and referrals under supervision. BLS within 90 days is required; state licensure as an LPN is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program required.
• Licensed to practice as an LPN (state) required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the provider with patient examinations, procedures, venipuncture, and other diagnostic testing.
• Collects and documents patient vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, past medical, family and social histories.
• Performs and maintains other LPN duties as related to physician office operations.
• Conducts monthly inspections of all supplies and medications to assess expiration dates and dispose of expired items per policy.
• Ensures that clinical supplies are properly stocked.
• Reviews charts for next day's appointments.
• Logs and updates medication lists for patients.
• Assists with answering phones, scheduling appointments and scanning.
• May be asked to provide coverage in other areas of the Foundation offices.
• Manages the care of the patient in collaboration with other members of the health care team.

Education

High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam

Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
