Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages in a supportive, clinical environment. You’ll design comprehensive plans of care, work with a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and ensure safe, effective therapy across the continuum of care.

Requires OT licensure (IL IDFPR or applicable state), BLS, and a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy. On-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in good standing.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• Maintains safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Designs and implements a plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes and discharge plans.
• Adjusts treatment based on patient response and current evidence.
• Educates patients, families, and other healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine OT diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations and selects appropriate tests for ROM, strength, and functional tasks.
• Screens patients to determine need for further therapy services.
• Utilizes support personnel per legal standards and provides feedback on care.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care according to policy and patient response.
• Completes required education for program compliance where applicable.
• Communicates with referring providers regarding progress and recommendations.
