Job summary

School of Imagination & Happy Talkers in Dublin, CA is seeking licensed pediatric Occupational Therapists to join a collaborative early childhood care team. Roles available in full-time or part-time, permanent or temporary, including coverage for leaves and per-diem substitutes.

Eligible candidates will have CA OT licensure and a degree from ACOTE-accredited programs. OTs will assess and treat sensory, motor, self-regulation, and daily living skills, coordinate with SLP, ABA, and Infant

Qualifications

• California OT License (OTR/L) required to begin.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.
• Commitment to interprofessional collaboration and evidence-based practice.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (CentralReach familiarity preferred).
• 2+ years in pediatric or early childhood settings preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standardized and clinical assessments of sensory processing, fine/gross motor, self-regulation, and functional daily living skills; write evaluation reports and treatment plans.
• Deliver individual and small-group therapy aligned to each child's treatment plan and IEP goals; document progress in CentralReach.
• Participate in case conferences with Speech, ABA, and Infant Development colleagues; coordinate mutually reinforcing goals.
• Maintain compliance with billing, licensing, and clinical documentation standards.
• Provide parent and caregiver training to extend OT strategies into home and community settings.
• Contribute to cross-discipline structures, team culture, and continuous improvement.

ABOUT US

School of Imagination is an inclusive early childhood education and therapy center in Dublin, California, serving children birth through age 5 with a range of developmental needs and learning profiles. We integrate speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis, and early intervention alongside our preschool program. THE ROLE

The Occupational Therapist is a core clinical partner in an integrated early childhood developmental care system — not a stand-alone service provider. OT sits alongside Speech-Language Pathology, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Infant Development, collectively addressing communication, behavior, sensory regulation, motor development, and learning in young children. The right candidate thinks in terms of the whole child.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

• Full-time or part-time; permanent or temporary. We currently have a temporary need covering a clinician's ~6-month leave AND ongoing part-time/permanent capacity. Per-diem/substitute OTs welcome.
• Monday–Friday, business hours; part-time schedules flexible.
• On-site: 9801 Dublin Blvd, Dublin, CA.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Full-time salary: $93,000–$110,000/year, based on experience.
• Part-time/temporary/per-diem: hourly, commensurate with experience.
• Retention bonus: $5,000 after 6 months of continuous service.
• Benefits (benefit-eligible roles): medical, dental, vision; 401(k); generous PTO + paid holidays; continuing education support.

This role reports to Charlene Sigman, Co-Founder & Executive Director.

REQUIRED

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — particularly with families and interdisciplinary teams

PREFERRED

• 2+ years in pediatric or early childhood settings
• Experience with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or sensory processing needs
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
• Training in sensory integration, neurodevelopmental approaches, or family-centered early intervention
• Experience with IEP development and special education processes
