Job summary

The Oklahoma State Department of Health in Purcell is seeking an Occupational Therapist I, II, or III for a temporary, part-time position. Primary responsibilities include examinations and treatment of children with physical impairments, using therapeutic modalities to improve mobility and daily functioning.

The role works in children's natural environments and offers competitive hourly rates up to $37.01 based on level, education, and experience. Requires Oklahoma licensure.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Oklahoma OT license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
  • Level I requires a letter of eligibility from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, valid until permanent license is obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Provides early intervention services in the child and family’s natural environment (home, childcare, park etc.).
  • Makes recommendations concerning standardized treatments/intervention based on developmental indications.
  • Completes child assessments concerning developmental, educational, and social skills/abilities.
  • Participates in family interview.
  • Conducts intakes, including client interviews, and conducts assessments to make appropriate recommendations for services.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team to monitor the effectiveness of child health and development services.
  • Develops a treatment plan to address areas of need including routine-based activities, neuro-motor and sensory-motor function/activities and child/family coaching and education sessions.
  • Participates in the assessment, design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices.
  • Evaluates the child’s response to treatment/intervention and makes recommendations on changes in treatment as required.
  • Maintains confidential records of services including progress notes and evaluation reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participates as a mentor to Occupational Therapy Interns during their fieldwork experience.

Education

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Current Oklahoma OT license
