Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Station Technician for the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. The role combines Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator duties to support direct patient care and administrative tasks on an evening shift (0.7 FTE).

You will work under a nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service and collaborative teamwork with patients, families, and the health care team on a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required; OnTrack participants must obtain certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
• Preferred NST or Nursing Support experience in pediatric hospital setting (6 months).
• Six months of recent direct care experience in long term, home care or acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional caregiver in patient care tasks: personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, feeding.
• Transport patients and equipment; 1:1 patient sitting; set up and maintain patient rooms.
• Reorder and stock supplies; answer phones; process admissions, discharges, transfers; transcribe orders; assemble patient charts; order tests.
