Grand Canyon Education, Inc. seeks Nursing Pediatric Clinical Instructors to teach in the ABSN program in Norfolk, VA. Instructors will supervise clinical education at partner facilities, guiding students in psychomotor skills, standards of practice, and critical thinking.

The role involves collaboration with Averett University’s Accelerated BSN program and requires RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state, BSN, and MSN pursuit with the ability to work 8–12 hour clinical shifts.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered RN license in Virginia or a compact state.
• Completed BSN.
• Two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
• Currently attending MSN.
• Able to work 8-12 hour shifts in clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
• Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical setting related to professionalism, practice, and research.
• Selects and organizes learning activities which facilitate the student’s attainment of the course objectives.
• Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
• Promote evidence-based practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment by providing feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with other faculty, administration as and with the healthcare partner and its staff.
• Attend all required orientation, training and faculty meetings.
