Job summary

Chamberlain University in Hawaii is seeking a Pediatric Clinical Faculty member (part-time) for our BSN program. Teaching occurs onsite in clinical settings with rotations typically 12 hours (7a-7p) across three to four consecutive days, in coordination with clinical partners.

The instructor will plan experiences, supervise nursing students, assess performance, and provide timely feedback. A Hawaii nursing license and a passion for nursing education are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered Hawaii nursing license.
• At least two years of teaching experience in the last five years as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implements the program philosophy, curriculum and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Evaluates student performance and provides documented feedback based on course objectives.
• Remains available for remediation as required and updates knowledge of agency/clinical policies.
• Develops and posts written clinical assignments aligned with student knowledge and needs.
• Grading of homework, quizzes, tests, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
• May teach didactic content under supervision of the course coordinator.
• Keeps course coordinator informed of student and agency issues and concerns.
• Reports to the dean or assistant dean with oversight from the course coordinator.
