Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to assist with per diem coverage at Winchester Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported environment providing care to hospitalized children and newborns in a community-focused setting.

You will work in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery, collaborating with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model.

Qualifications

• Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Experience in pediatrics, newborn care, or hospital medicine preferred.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Team oriented with excellent communication abilities.
• Committed to delivering family-centered, high-quality care.
• Current APRN national specialty certification.
• Minimum of a master's degree.
• Must have an active VA license.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery.
• Collaborate closely with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model.
• Work an 8-hour daytime shift; weekends preferred.
• Participate in rounding, patient management, admissions, and discharge planning.
• Access subspecialty support through leading institutions UVA, INOVA, Children's National Hospital.

Per Diem Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced, certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to assist with per diem coverage at Winchester Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported environment providing care to hospitalized children and newborns in a community-focused setting.

Position Highlights

• Provide care in a 17-bed pediatric unit and newborn nursery with approximately 2,400 annual admissions
  • Pediatric Floor Average Daily Census: 5
  • Newborn Nursery Average Daily Census: 15
• Collaborate closely with pediatric hospitalists in a team-based care model
• Work an 8-hour daytime shift; weekends preferred
• Participate in rounding, patient management, admissions, and discharge planning
• Access subspecialty support through leading institutions

• Pediatrix also provides onsite NICU services, supporting continuity across levels of care
