Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, Florida is seeking a full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team at the Alafaya office, focusing on pediatric medical and nursing care.

The APRN/PA will perform exams, order tests, coordinate referrals, and help develop in-school plans, with a commitment to two Saturday shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current Florida APRN or PA license in good standing.
• Pediatric experience required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and nursing care to pediatric patients with acute or chronic illnesses.
• Perform complete or focused physical examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic or screening tests to develop treatment plans.
• Refer patients to other health care professionals and services as appropriate.
• Develop or approve in-school management plans for patients.
• Provide dietary, activity/exercise, counseling, education, and health promotion recommendations.
• Commit to working 2 Saturdays a month (4–6 hour shifts).
• Initiate other measures/procedures within APRN scope as trained.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Primary Care (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider to work at our Alafaya Primary Care Office in Orlando, Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides medical and nursing care to pediatric patients with acute or chronic illnesses, with a patient/family centered care focus.
• Performs complete or focused physical examinations.
• Orders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests in order to develop treatment plans.
• Refers clients to other health care professionals and agencies as appropriate for specialized services, including but not limited to: other medical subspecialists, physical and occupational therapy, nutritional counseling and management, special education, growth and development/behavioral counseling.
• Develops or approves in-school management plans for patients as appropriate.
• Makes dietary, activity/exercise, counseling, education and health promotion recommendations within the APRN scope of practice.
• Must commit to working 2 Saturdays a month (4 to 6 hours shifts)
• Initiates any other measure/procedure for which the APRN has been trained depending on patient's condition and judgment of the physician and the APRN.
